Leaders are readers: Rebuilding the reading habit

Have you ever heard that leaders are readers? Reading “can improve intelligence and lead to innovation and insight”, and you’ll find that well-known world leaders, influencers, entrepreneurs, etc, usually share large lists of books that they had read yearly.

As I mentioned in my new year’s resolution post, rebuilding my reading habit is one of my new challenges. In this post I would like to share some details about my plan, and build and share the list of books I want to read for this year 2020.

Doesn’t mean that I don’t read at all, I really do, but mostly articles and posts published through LinkedIn, Twitter, Reddit, etc. They keep me up to date, … Read the rest!

Sergeant Tom Highway and the emotional intelligence

Recently watched on TV the film Heartbreak Ridge, produced, directed, and also starred by Clint Eastwood. I really loved this movie, I’ve seen it many times. But what has this movie and his main character to do with emotional intelligence?

Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Highway is one of his famous starred characters. A very tough guy, seasoned, the marine leader that everybody wanted to see in a film. And as usual it is so well performed by Clint Eastwood.

Morning exercise. Why?

Morning exercise is one of this year’s resolutions. Nothing unusual, like many other existing goals that anyone could set. But anybody could feel curious and ask me: Why should I change it to mornings? Are there any real benefits of waking up earlier for doing workouts?

New Year’s resolutions: Bye 2019, hello 2020!

Writing a blog takes time and it’s easy to lose the track, lose the commitment, not being constant, run out of ideas, or just to give up #NoExcuses. At some point, I decided to not continue with it (but I kept it).

Today I want to write about this new year’s goals. One of them is continue with the blog, so that’s why I am writing these lines today. Been a long time since my last post here!

But before sharing this year’s goals, let’s talk about what happened last year, a little retrospective…

Year 2019 Resolutions

  1. Health: Get in shape, lose weight. Had spent a year without any physical activity or regular sport.
  2. Learning: Finish ThePowerMBA, and continue

… Read the rest!
